"Gratitude #13 (aka Lainey Emmons)"

Dear Community,

A secret to living stress-free? Love your life. The one you have right now. Not the one you will have when you have a perfect body, perfect job or perfect relationship – the one you have right now!

The more positive feelings you have, the less stress you will have. The less stress you have, the more you’ll feel in control of your own life. You’ll waste less time, energy, thoughts and money on things that make you feel better in the short run but, in turn, rob you of your long-term goals.

I use a gratitude list to get me in the positive flow. It allows me a fresh perspective and beckons me to fall back in love with my life. The one I have right now.

I’m sharing my latest list to inspire you to inventory your gratefulness. This is a personal list with entries that are cryptic to you, but I wanted to share with you how I actually write my list, because the personalization of it is key to being effective in getting me in the positive flow.

I do this exercise regularly, with my paper numbered from 1 to 100. However, each time I still start the list the same way I did the first time I did this exercise some 20 years ago: with my washer and my dryer. Yes, they each get separate lines. After all, I have to be specific to get to 100, and the more specific I get, the more gratitude I feel.

Here is my list!

Happy Thanksgiving,
